Message:<\/td>\n This weekend we were delivered some devastating news. The President of our organization, Shannon Cassidy, suddenly passed away. We are heartbroken for her family who have to go through this. She was an amazing mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend to so many. I first met Shannon as a placement student and from there she became a valuable employee. She left the organization to further her skills and continue education with the school board. A few years later became involved with us as a board member. She was passionate about her role and did a great job helping us blossom. Her life was cut far to short but a woman like her will never be forgotten. We thank her for all she has done for us and know she is a beautiful Angel in heaven just like she was on earth. Message:<\/td>\n Early childhood education is a rewarding and exciting career! Starting in September 2021, the brand new Silver King Childcare Centre will open to families and the community. A partnership between #SelkirkCollege and the Kootenay Kids Society, the centre will have 16 spaces for infant\/toddlers and eight spaces for children up to the age of five. \nAs the finishing touches are added to the facility on Nelson\u2019s Silver King Campus, the Kootenay Kids Society is preparing to hire staff. On Tuesday, June 29, those interested in this opportunity are invited to a recruitment event at the new centre between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. The society is looking to hire a program director, two early childhood educators, three toddler educators and an early childhood educator assistant.
