Asparagus is notoriously seen as difficult to match. It can make wine taste bitter or harsh.\u2063\n\u2063\nHowever, there are plenty of wines that do work well with asparagus – particularly when taken into account how it\u2019s cooked and the other ingredients involved.\u2063\n\u2063\nSauvignon Blanc, sparkling wine or a dry Ros\u00e9 match very well. And so does \ud835\udc0f\ud835\udc22\ud835\udc27\ud835\udc28\ud835\udc2d \ud835\udc06\ud835\udc2b\ud835\udc22\ud835\udc2c. \u2063\n\u2063\nHere\u2019s a simple and easy recipe you can put together quickly after a busy day and it\u2019s so yummy.\u2063\n\u2063\n\u2022 half a red onion chopped \u2063\n\u2022 cup or more sliced fresh mushrooms \u2063\n\u2022 8-12 spears asparagus, chopped \u2063\n\u2022 half a cup frozen or fresh green peas\u2063\n\u2022 2-3 cloves garlic\u2063\n\u2022 your favourite pasta\u2063\n\u2022 Parmesan cheese\u2063\n\u2022 salt and pepper to taste\u2063\n\u2063\nSteam asparagus to a still slightly crisp texture. Cook peas to directions. Saut\u00e9 mushrooms and onions in oil until onions translucent. Toss in asparagus and peas, add garlic and saut\u00e9 another minute or so. \u2063\nPut aside. Cook pasta to your preferred style and add to veg mixture. Add salt and pepper and top with Parmesan cheese. Voila! \u2063\n\u2063\nNote: this recipe can be enjoyed by vegans, too.
